Yesterday, just days after President Obama’s reelection to our highest office, General David Petraeus, the Director of the CIA, resigned. He cited an extra-marital affair as the cause of his resignation. As he was supposed to testify next week before Congress about the attack on our consulate in Benghazi that left four American murdered, his sudden resignation is fishy- to say the least.
On the plus side, General Petraeus should consider himself lucky he was allowed to resign. When the Politburo used to have an official that knew too much, they would just “suicide” them.
General Petraeus wrote to his colleagues,
“Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed, for personal reasons, to resign from my position as D/CIA. After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.
As I depart Langley, I want you to know that it has been the greatest of privileges to have served with you, the officers of our Nation’s Silent Service, a work force that is truly exceptional in every regard. Indeed, you did extraordinary work on a host of critical missions during my time as director, and I am deeply grateful to you for that…”
Petraeus was scheduled to testify next week before Congress, along with Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, on the attack on our consulate in Benghazi on September 11th that left four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, dead. In the weeks that followed, the Obama Administration pushed an implausible story that a YouTube video prompted a spontaneous riot that killed the Americans. Despite the Obama Administration’s best efforts, outrage and questions over the multitude of lies have come from a public that demands answers from the corrupt administration.
More than anything, the timing of Petraeus’ resignation has raised red flags for anyone who has paid attention to the Benghazi scandal. It sounds ridiculous and, quite frankly, something out of a badly-written political thriller. In the aftermath of an attack on our consulate in the Middle East, people, naturally, wonder why they’re being lied to. With tensions mounting, the Director of the CIA is called to testify before Congress on the matter, but before that can happen, he resigns amidst an “affair” and is whisked off, no longer testifying. Sure, that sounds completely above-board.
Seriously, this cover-up keeps getting stranger and stranger.
Last month, the Obama Administration threw Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to the wolves as a sacrificial lamb to try and get people to stop asking inconvenient questions. Since that has not worked, Hillary Clinton announced yesterday that she would resign within days of Obama’s inauguration.
I can’t say I blame her. If she hopes to run in 2016, she needs to get off this train while she can, because this administration can’t keep it together for any length of time and the second Obama Administration is bound to accumulate more scandals under its belt than the first. If Hillary ever hopes to be President Hillary, she needs to distance herself from this trainwreck-waiting-to-happen ASAP.
