OMG! Richard Mourdock Believes In God

Have you seen the latest campaign controversy from Indiana? It appears that Richard Mourdock believes that an almighty God has a hand in every aspect of life, even terrible things. I know it is shocking that in this enlightened age that somebody would actually talk about their faith, it is soooo politically incorrect! I mean, think about how insensitive his religious beliefs are to people who have terrible things happen to them.

This is the kind of ridiculous attack they have desperately launched in the final days of this campaign. They aren’t attacking Richard Mourdock for his view on abortion as his opponent also opposes nearly all abortions. No, this is a desperate attack on his faith. Somehow, if you believe that God’s greatest miracles can emerge from the most tragic circumstances, that makes you worthy of scorn in the soulless world of the established left. Richard Mourdock was awkward with his words but media-driven controversy over his comments can only be interpreted as an insult to our ability to reason. They keep trying to make this election about anything but the issues that matter and we are having none of it! I want to know why we just announced a $40 BILLION dollar giveaway to a handful of banks. I want to know why it is so hard to start a business in this country and why we need 80,000+ pages of tax code. Richard Mourdock is a champion of issues like these and I could care less what he thinks about abortion because he isn’t going to be governing on abortion. It’s crap like this that poisons our political climate and denies us the ability to solve glaring problems with proven solutions. They know what issues divide us and they are focusing on those issues because they know we stand united against their incompetence, pettiness, and corruption.

Both parties needed to start acting like adults. In one party I see a guy like Mourdock who stood up to the Obama Administration over ridiculous bailouts and in another I see candidate after candidate who aren’t out there running on an Obamacare/Dodd-Frank educational mission, but instead deflecting to craven and shallow issues.

In a race between two guys who are pro-life, the topic of the election is abortion. Great. I can’t wait for the day when our decisions aren’t based on issues like gay marriage and abortion, but the pressing matters of our time.
