Last week, jihadist and convicted terrorist Omar Khadr was quietly and discreetly flown from Guantanamo Bay to Canada where he will serve the remainder of his eight-year sentence for mercilessly killing American Special Forces Medic Christopher Speer. Isn’t that lovely…
The Obama Administration seems to be getting more and more anti-American. Khadr is a Canadian-born terrorist that killed Speer after a firefight was over and several weeks after Speer received a medal for saving two Afghan children from a minefield. Speer left behind a wife and two kids.
Per an agreement with Canada, the Obama Administration sent Khadr back to Canada, where he was met with open arms and cheers from many, including Amnesty International. He is now in custody in Canada, which means he will be out on the streets in about fifteen minutes. What’s second prize for killing a medic?
Khadr’s father, Ahmed Khadr, was an Al- Qaeda financier and avowed jihadist and the Khadr family has been bouncing back and forth for years between Canada and Pakistan. The jury at Khadr’s trial recommended forty years, but the prosecution offered him 8 years with the possibility of a transfer to Canada in 1 year. Meanwhile, Sgt. Speer is still dead.
The celebrity terrorist has much support in Canada and has become a cause celebre in certain circles. Though he could wield an AK47 with the best of them, Khadr was a teenager when he killed Speer, so he has elicited sympathy from the pansy-ass left, viewing him as a “child soldier.”
Brydie Bethell, Khadr’s Canadian lawyer, stated, “[Khadr's] in a state of disbelief and really pinching himself wondering when he’s going to wake up from this dream.”
How nice for him…
However, even more disgusting is the complicity by our own government in his release. The Obama Administration is still in hushed talks with the Egyptian government to release Omar Abdel-Rahman- the Blind Sheik- the terrorist mastermind behind the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.
What the hell is going on around here? Eric Holder is getting an award for being an accessory to murder, Obama’s apologizing to every enemy of America, he recently released 55 Gitmo detainees and Egypt is getting $450 million for attacking our embassy. Where are the consequences for the heinousness of these peoples’ actions?
We need real leadership and an executive branch with a little backbone. This is beyond embarrassing, this is infuriating.
