If you missed the Democratic Convention, you didn’t miss much. It was extremely liberal, relatively nasty, and most of it was paint-dry-boring watching.
The DNC was also abortion-palooza 2012. Not only did the Dems have speakers from NARAL and Planned Parenthood on the stage, speaker after speaker just went on and on about abortion. It’s almost like they won’t rest until every woman in America has at least one abortion. You practically expected them to bring some woman up from the crowd and do an abortion right there on stage. It was a constant drumbeat.
In addition, as you’ve probably heard, the Democrats booed God. Yes, really. They took “God” and Jerusalem as the capital of Israel out of the party platform. There was a big hullabaloo over that and so the order was given to put it back in. All that was needed was a 2/3 voice vote to make the changes and…they didn’t get it. Then they didn’t get it again. Finally, after a third voice vote where the majority of delegates seemed to oppose putting “God” and Jerusalem back in the platform, they did it anyway. This produced a flurry of boos from Democrats who didn’t want God or Jerusalem in their party platform.
They also had Sandra Fluke as a speaker. Yes, the 30 year old student they’re using to persecute the Catholic Church was treated like a rock star by the Democrats.
Against this backdrop came Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
Originally, the DNC denied Dolan’s offer to do the benediction on the final day of the convention, but after the Republicans brought him in, the Democrats didn’t want to concede the most powerful Catholic voice in America to the GOP.
So, after Obama finished last night, Dolan got up to speak. His speech wasn’t political, but he delivered several ferocious little jabs at the Democrats for people who were paying attention.
We beseech you, almighty God to shed your grace on this noble experiment in ordered liberty, which began with the confident assertion of inalienable rights bestowed upon us by you: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
Thus do we praise you for the gift of life. Grant us the courage to defend it, life, without which no other rights are secure. We ask your benediction on those waiting to be born, that they may be welcomed and protected.
Renew in all our people a profound respect for religious liberty: the first, most cherished freedom bequeathed upon us at our Founding. (For Sandra Fluke)
We praise and thank you for the American genius of government of the people, by the people and for the people. Oh God of wisdom, justice, and might, we ask your guidance for those who govern us: President Barack Obama, Vice President Joseph Biden, Congress, the Supreme Court, and all those, including Governor Mitt Romney and Congressman Paul Ryan, who seek to serve the common good by seeking public office. Make them all worthy to serve you by serving our country. Help them remember that the only just government is the government that serves its citizens rather than itself.
And most of all, God Almighty, we thank you for the great gift of our beloved country.
For we are indeed “one nation under God,” and “in God we trust.”
So dear God, bless America. You who live and reign forever and ever. (Boo this if you dare!)
Liberals responded with F-bombs. Conservatives loved it.

“Sneaking inside the Culture of Death and then dropping truth bombs like a pro.” I couldn’t have said it better myself.
